Today’s Wedding Wednesday Spotlight has a special place for me in my wedding vendor round up. Christa Lanning, the events coordinator at the absolutely stunning Governor Thomas Bennett House, and I started a friendship while working at another wedding company here in town and continue to work together now. She was one of the first people I met when I moved here to Charleston, and she showed the ropes and gave me the run down of what it meant to be in the Holy City wedding industry. For that, I will be forever grateful! Now managing the events at the Thomas Bennett House, she has found a wonderful home and I am so excited to have THREE weddings with her next year within two months. Hello!! We are the party people!

Well, enough from me, let’s get to the good stuff. Soak in Christa’s wise words of wisdom and get ready for some wedding insight!

So the reason I started these Wedding Wednesday Spotlights were for you, my followers, to get to know the vendors of Charleston better. But it turns out, I am learning more and more about these fabulous people each day, too! Today’s spotlight is the incredibly sweet and equally talented Ashley Brown of ABCD. Her kind words and inspiring background has made me love her even more. Seriously y’all, her cakes are INCREDIBLE! Check them out below along with her insightful answers.

As you may have seen on Instagram or my other social media accounts, last month I attended The Southern C's The Summit conference in downtown Charleston. My two lovely employers, Cory with Sage Innovations and Kristen from The Silver Starfish, sponsored me to attend this fantastic conference where I learned so much about marketing, branding and social media. All of the speakers, from editors at magazines to CEO's of big companies, were incredibly interesting and knowledgable with much advice to give. During those three days, I was able to fully immerse...

Photography is a very difficult art. And wedding photography is quite possibly the hardest. Not only do you have to capture many different aspects of the event from the little details to the happy guests, but also all of the emotions between the bride and groom as they become one. Clay Austin, of Clay Austin Photography, does all of this tremendously, and with a sense of humor as well! Clay and I worked on a wedding together this past fall at Lowndes Grove and it has been one of my favorite weddings to date. Starting to incorporate more film photography into his events, his pictures evoke personality, love, and emotion.

Get ready to feel all of the feels, and get a good chuckle, out of Clay Austin’s spotlight. I know I did!
