Last week I got to attend my second The Knot party and it was delightful! (Not that I would expect anything less.) They hosted it at one of Charleston’s newest wedding venues, The Gadsden House, and invited some of the top wedding vendors to create and attend this event filled with Pantone‘s colors of the year- Serenity and Rose Quartz. With a live artist onsite to paint tapestry backgrounds and mini pineapples in the floral arrangements, I couldn’t get enough of all the little details!

I love being able to attend these events with fellow wedding colleagues before the hustle and bustle of wedding season hits. This was a great way to start off the craziness!

For this blog post, I decided to put together a slideshow to showcase Charleston Wedding’s Bridal Show in downtown last month. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky enough to have my mother in town to help me celebrate! (As you will learn about me, I take anyone and everyone’s birthday’s VERY seriously. So you can imagine how mine is in our family! HA!) We had one of the best days attending this fashion show followed by an evening in Kiawah at the Andell Inn. So pretty much…perfection. Now get lost in the beautiful gowns and try not to lose track of too much time!

Ps…can you guess my favorite gown?!

Okay, so a couple of weeks ago, I got to attend my first fashion show and boy was it a treat! As you have read before, my darling roommate Lucy, works at the amazing company of Kate McDonald Bridal and LulaKate, so naturally, I have been obsessed with their newest designs and creations since I moved here last March.

When they announced their 2016 bridal show to the public, I was obviously the first person to reserve my ticket. (No, seriously, I was the very first guest. Are you surprised?! You shouldn’t be.)

Their marketing team then decided to do a little contest on their Instagram feed for the cutest, most clever hashtag to be used for their fashion show for two front row tickets. I jumped at the opportunity and submitted over 13 hashtags. (Yes, I do need a hobby.) When Lucy texted me to inform me that no, my hashtag had not won, but that Katherine, the amazing lady behind all of these beautiful gowns, was going to put in the front row anyways to capture pictures of their garments in action and to blog about my experience, I was THRILLED! Seriously, the first thing I did was call my mother. (Once again, I need a life.)

The moral of this ridiculous, Cayleigh is crazy, story is that I had the best first fashion show experience one could ever have. I hope these pictures make you smile as much as I do. Clearly. 🙂

Last week, I celebrated my first year in Charleston and my 24th birthday. And you know what that means?! The Petal Report is a year old too! Can you believe it?! I most certainly cannot. I have been reflecting on all that I have learned and tried in the last year and wanted to share my silly, exciting list of accomplishments with you all!

So sit back, relax, and let’s talk about weddings and Charleston!
